Promethea #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis volume collects the first six issues of Alan Moore and J.H. Williams III's acclaimed series, introducing the world of Promethea—a living storybook character who manifests in modern-day New York through college student Sophie Bangs. As Sophie learns to wield the power of imagination and navigate the realms of myth and magic, the story blends superhero adventure with philosophical exploration of creativity and the nature of reality.
"The Radiant, Heavenly City" launches Alan Moore’s ambitious, visually stunning series with a dreamlike encounter that blurs reality and myth. As Sophie seeks answers from the enigmatic Barbara Shelley, a sudden attack forces a desperate transformation—when imagination becomes a weapon, and a new Promethea is born in the ancient streets of Roman Alexandria. J. H. Williams III’s breathtaking art, inks by Mick Gray, and color by Digital Chameleon bring this surreal journey to life, with Todd Klein’s lettering perfectly framing the story’s lyrical intensity.
