It follows the titular super-scientist and his family as they face threats from alternate dimensions, time travel, and his arch-nemesis, the mad scientist Paul Saveen. The book includes the initial issues of the ongoing series, establishing the retro-futuristic world of Millennium City.
In "How Tom Strong Got Started," Alan Moore and Chris Sprouse launch a bold origin story for the man who defies time and gravity. As young Timmy Turbo witnesses Tom Strong fend off Blimp Bandits in a sky car, the tale unfolds of how scientist Sinclair Strong and his wife, stranded on the mysterious Attabar Teru, raised their son Tom under a strict scientific regimen. From his upbringing by the Ozu to his triumphs over Paul Saveen and his role in shaping history with King Solomon, Tom’s journey begins long before the sky car chase—crafted with care by Sprouse and Gordon, and colored with vivid precision by Ehrlich.
When the Modular Man erupts from a neighborhood in Millennium City, Tom Strong and his family must confront the chaos he unleashes—especially after Tesla Strong rescues the fanboys who unwittingly brought him to life. With the fate of Earth hanging in the balance, Tom makes a bold offer to the creature, trading Venus for peace, but the true cost of the deal remains unknown.
In "Aztech Nights," Tom Strong finds himself captured by mysterious forces emerging from ancient Aztech ziggurats that have risen across Millennium City. Freed by Quetzalcoatl-9, an enslaved AI god, Tom must decide how far he’ll go to help the being reclaim its legacy—while confronting the legacy of King Solomon and the secrets buried beneath the city’s streets.
In "Memories of Pangaea," Tom Strong journeys to the dawn of time, where he encounters the enigmatic Pangaean, a being of ancient wisdom and vast power. As an asteroid storm threatens to end all, Tom must escape through a time capsule—leaving behind a civilization that may not survive the collision.
In "Dead Man's Hand," Tom Strong confronts a past he thought buried when Charade, posing as Paul Saveen, orchestrates a tribute that unexpectedly reveals Albrecht Strong—his long-lost son from a secret chapter in 1945. With Dhalua and Tesla on the battlefield, the Aryan Angels face their reckoning, but the true stakes of this reunion remain shrouded in mystery.
In "The Big Heat?", Tom Strong crosses paths with Paul Dorian Saveen when a malfunctioning Phlogiston Accumulator traps Tom and Greta Gabriel in a collapsing facility. With the air thick with volatile energy, Tom must act fast to save Greta, while Saveen’s fate hangs in the balance.
