The cover of this March 2000 America's Best Comics anthology poses a delightfully absurd question: "Who will be the newest star in Tomorrow Stories?" — and the answer involves a waiting room packed with an extraordinary crowd of oddballs, including a boxing robot, a dapper ape with a flashlight, a helmeted spaceman, a winged devil-girl, and a costumed superhero lineup stretching out the door, all waiting to be called by a stern, winged figure at the top of the stairs. Rick Veitch's cover art has a wonderfully chaotic energy, cramming in so many wild characters that a second look always reveals something new. Alan Moore's anthology series has always thrived on variety and wit, and issue #6 looks like no exception.
