Tomorrow Stories #1

Mar 2002 · DC · 24.95 USD; 40.95 CAD
“Smalltown Stardom”

"Smalltown Stardom" in *Tomorrow Stories* #1 (2002) is a delightfully absurd tale from Alan Moore, illustrated with surreal precision by Kevin Nowlan, whose distinctive style brings the story’s whimsical chaos to life. When Jack’s mischievous antics spark a pig uprising, his parents try a new approach—giving him a cat, which somehow sets off a chain of events leading to a town full of anti-gravity felines. The cover, also by Nowlan, captures the story’s offbeat charm in bold, dynamic lines.

After Jack causes the local pigs to revolt, his parents give him a pet cat hoping it will be a good influence on him; somehow, this leads to Jack creating a multitude of cats which develop anti-gravity (from butter on their backs) and hover over the town. All's well that ends well when the cats fall on the revolutionary pigs.
