“A Case of Heart Failure”

In "A Case of Heart Failure," Green Lantern takes on a chilling mystery when a wealthy man's sudden death leaves his fortune to a hated nephew, prompting Alan Scott to investigate. With Irene and Doiby digging into the case, Irene is once again taken, leading Green Lantern to the Spider's lair—where he uncovers a sinister chemical used to manipulate victims into rewriting their wills, then trigger fatal heart failures. Written by Bill Finger and illustrated by Irwin Hasen, this 1941 adventure blends detective intrigue with the early superhero mystique, all captured in a striking cover by Howard Purcell.
