Ulf Granberg was a Swedish comics writer and editor, best known for his decades-long stewardship of *Fantomen*, the Swedish comic book dedicated to the Phantom. He was born Ulf Leo Granberg on 9 May 1945 and passed away on 9 January 2026. Granberg entered the comics field as an editor and publisher, overseeing not only *Fantomen* but also a wide range of other comic titles. His writing career for our catalog spans from 1975 to 2023, with credits on 77 issues, most heavily concentrated on *Fantomen*, *Fantomet*, *Phantom*, and related series, as well as the humor strip *Herman Hedning*. Granberg’s signature work involved crafting long-running Phantom storylines that expanded the character’s mythos, often collaborating with a stable of Swedish and European artists. He is noted for co-creating several Phantom adventures that became staples of the series. Later in life, he remained a respected figure in Scandinavian comics, contributing to the *Fantomen-krönika* archive series. His legacy is that of a dedicated caretaker who kept the Phantom alive for a new generation of readers in Sweden and beyond.
