In "Dödens sekunder," Fantomen is haunted by visions of the ancient Egyptian figure Imhotep/Hamoud—once a kidnapper of Kiwuhövdningens daughter T-sinue, who perished when a temple collapsed upon him. Now, the mysterious "Eld av Livet" he buried with him has drawn the criminal Chili to the same ruin, seeking treasure. Journalist Neil Hutcinson, eavesdropping on the plot, finds himself caught in a web of forgotten secrets. Written by Claes Reimerthi and Ulf Granberg, with art by Joan Boix and cover by Terje Aspmo, this 1994 Semic issue blends mystery and myth in a tale where the past refuses to stay buried.
