Renee Witterstaetter
Renée Witterstaetter, also known as Eva Renee Witterstaetter, is an American comic book colorist, editor, producer, and writer. Born in the United States, she entered the industry in the late 1980s, quickly establishing herself as a skilled colorist on major superhero titles including *The Avengers*, *Spider-Man*, and *Superman*. Her most recognized work came as editor on Marvel’s *The Sensational She-Hulk*, where she collaborated closely with writer/artist John Byrne. Witterstaetter even appeared as a fourth-wall-breaking character within that very series, a playful nod to her behind-the-scenes role. Beyond editing, she colored over 100 issues across a range of series, from *Barbie* and *The Pirates of Dark Water* to *What If...?* and *Web of Spider-Man*, and later contributed to *Jurassic Park Adventures* and *Return to Jurassic Park*. Her career also extended into production and writing, though her editorial tenure on *She-Hulk* remains her signature achievement. Witterstaetter’s work helped shape the visual and editorial direction of Marvel during the 1990s, and she remains a notable figure in the field for her versatility across roles.
