Mitch Byrd
Mitch Byrd is a comic book penciller best known for his energetic, detail-driven work across independent and mainstream titles from the 1990s onward. He broke into the industry with the series *Cat and Mouse*, collaborating with writer Roland Mann and artist Steven Butler; the book first appeared under Aircel Comics and continued after its merger with Malibu Comics. Over the following decades, Byrd worked on a wide range of projects, including *Guy Gardner: Warrior*, *RoboCop: Roulette*, *Dinosaurs for Hire*, *Miss Fury*, and *Generation X*, contributing as an artist, inker, and writer across 78 issues from 1990 to 2025. His style often blends clean linework with dynamic action, suited to both superhero and licensed properties. Byrd also compiled his work in *The Art of Mitch Byrd Volume 1* (2001) and *Scribbles & Sketches HC Vol. 01* (2008). While he has not received major industry-wide awards, his consistent output and versatility have earned him a steady place in comics history, particularly among fans of 1990s independent and superhero art.
