Jerome Opeña
Jerome Opeña, a Filipino comic book artist, is best known for his detailed, atmospheric work on a range of Marvel and creator-owned titles, most notably in frequent collaboration with writer Rick Remender. Born in the Philippines, Opeña entered the industry in the early 2000s, building a reputation for expressive, textured linework and moody, cinematic storytelling. His breakout came with the sci-fi series *Fear Agent*, co-created with Remender, followed by the acclaimed *Uncanny X-Force*, where his art brought a visceral edge to the team’s morally complex missions. He also contributed to *Vengeance of the Moon Knight* and *Avengers*, but his later creator-owned work on *Seven to Eternity* further showcased his ability to craft sprawling, fantastical worlds. Opeña’s style—meticulous, with a keen sense of shadow and emotion—made him a sought-after cover artist as well. He remains active in the industry, with his legacy tied to elevating the visual storytelling of modern comics through his distinct, often hauntingly beautiful pages.
