Uncanny X-Force #26

Rick Remender and Phil Noto's "Final Execution" arc rolls into its second chapter with a cover by Jerome Opeña that pulls no punches: a long-haired figure in a deep crimson suit strides forward with unsettling calm, flanked by a dark-clad companion trailing wires and a sleek, blue-faced armored figure, all framed by massive coiling tentacles and roiling smoke. The trio's grim composure against that looming organic backdrop sets an ominous tone that feels entirely at home in 2012's boldest X-book. Dean White's coloring gives the whole scene a smoldering, apocalyptic weight that makes this installment of "Everything Right is Wrong Again" hard to put down.
