Wingnut

Wingnut is a mutant alien who appears in the Archie Comics TMNT universe, frequently partnered with the insect companion Screwloose. He allies with the Turtles and other mutant heroes, crossing over into the Mighty Mutanimals ensemble.

Wingnut burst onto the Archie Comics scene in 1990, a wild Copper Age creation from the imaginative trio of Dean Clarrain, Ryan Brown, and Ken Mitchroney who were busy pushing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures into genuinely adventurous territory. This mutant oddity carved out a niche across three series — TMNT Adventures, Mighty Mutanimals, and the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title — keeping colorful company with the likes of Raphael, Donatello, Screwloose, Leatherhead, and Jess Harley.
