Screwloose

Screwloose is a mutant mosquito and inseparable companion to the alien bat Wingnut, both survivors fleeing the destruction of Wingnut's homeworld by Krang. The duo became unlikely allies to the Turtles while navigating the chaos of the TMNT Adventures universe.

Screwloose burst onto the scene in 1990 courtesy of Dean Clarrain, Ryan Brown, and Ken Mitchroney, debuting in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures #8 at Archie Comics during a wonderfully wild era for mutant mayhem. This Copper/Modern Age creation carved out a niche across TMNT Adventures, Mighty Mutanimals, and the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title, sharing pages with the likes of Raphael, Donatello, Wingnut, Leatherhead, and Jess Harley — a roster that signals just how gloriously strange and populated this corner of the TMNT universe was.
