Michael Collins
Michael Collins was a pacifist computer programmer working for Roxxon Oil's Cybertek division who discovered the company was building a cyborg supersoldier. To silence him, Cybertek transplanted his brain into the Deathlok combat cyborg, forcing Collins to wage an unwilling war inside a body built for killing.
Meet Michael Collins, a Marvel creation who stepped onto the scene in 1991 β right at the cusp of the Copper and Modern Ages β and has been quietly earning collector respect ever since. Introduced in Comics Scene by Kim Howard Johnson and Reed Waller, Collins is most closely associated with the Deathlok title, a series that put him in orbit around some of Marvel's heaviest hitters: Logan, Wolverine, Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, and the Human Torch have all shared pages with him across his 69 catalogued appearances. With three key issues to his name and a publishing presence stretching all the way to 2025, this is a character whose staying power speaks for itself β a rewarding deep dive for any fan who loves discovering the Copper Age's more complex, undersung corners of the Marvel Universe.
