Who is Killer Frost?

Crystal Frost was a scientist who developed the ability to absorb heat from living beings and project intense cold after a freak accident in the Arctic. She became one of Firestorm's most persistent enemies, driven by an obsessive fixation on the Nuclear Man.

Emerging from the Bronze Age in 1978, Killer Frost made her chilling debut in Firestorm #3, brought to life by writer Gerry Conway and artist Al Milgrom as one of the Nuclear Man's most formidable antagonists. Over more than three decades, she haunted the pages of The Fury of Firestorm and Justice League of America, crossing paths with heavy hitters like The Flash and Hawkman along the way. With a key-issue appearance to her name and a legacy that stretches well into the 2000s, she's a villain whose cold menace left a genuine mark on DC's Bronze Age mythology — and a rewarding discovery for any collector digging into Firestorm's rich rogues' gallery.
