Jason Rusch is a young man from Detroit who became the new Firestorm after the Nuclear Man's power was left without a host. Desperate and in over his head, Jason found himself able to merge with others to form the transmutation-powered hero.

Dan Jolley and ChrisCross introduced Jason Rusch to DC readers in 2004's Firestorm #1, and this Modern Age character has proven himself a genuinely significant addition to the publisher's mythology — racking up four key-issue appearances and a presence that stretches all the way to 2025.
