Catseye
A feral mutant who believed herself to be a cat that had learned to take human form, Catseye was recruited by the White Queen's Hellions training squad at the Massachusetts Academy, where her shapeshifting between human and feline states set her apart from her peers.
Bursting onto the scene in the pages of Firestar #2 in 1986, Catseye is a distinctive Copper Age creation from the Marvel Universe, brought to life by the team of Tom DeFalco, Mary Wilshire, and Bob Wiacek. She's most deeply associated with The New Mutants and Firestar, where she shares the page with a compelling roster of characters including Sharon Smith, Tarot, Marie-Ange Colbert, Jetstream, and Jennifer Stavros. With nearly four decades of appearances stretching from 1986 all the way to 2024 and at least one key collector-significant issue to her name, Catseye has proven herself a figure of genuine staying power in Marvel's sprawling tapestry. For fans who love diving into the rich ensemble storytelling of the Copper Age and beyond, she's a rewarding discovery.
