Punisher
Marvel · 1995–1997 · 18 issues
About the series
In the mid-90s, Marvel handed the Punisher’s solo title to writer John Ostrander, who steered Frank Castle through a gritty, politically charged run that tested the vigilante’s methods against a web of corruption. With regular artistic contributions from Tom Lyle, Pat Broderick, and Darick Robertson, this 18-issue series pitted the Punisher against the likes of the X-Cutioner and the shadowy William Conover, while a memorable encounter with Matt Murdock’s Daredevil added moral complexity. It stands as a distinctive, creator-driven chapter in the Punisher’s Marvel legacy.
