Mr. District Attorney
DC · 1948–1959 · 67 issues
About the series
From 1948 to 1959, DC Comics published Mr. District Attorney, a 67-issue crime-fighting series that followed the crusading district attorney and his allies—including sidekick Len Harrington and the comic relief of Rollo, Captain Tootsie, and Buzzy Brown—through courtroom dramas and street-level justice. Anchored by frequent writers Jack Schiff, Rod Reed, and C. C. Beck, with art from Beck, Win Mortimer, and Ray Thompson, the series also featured occasional crossovers with Clark Kent, bridging its gritty procedural world to the larger DC universe. It stands as a modest but durable entry in postwar crime comics, reflecting the era’s fascination with law-and-order heroes before the genre’s decline.
