This 1956 DC crime drama presents a genuinely clever puzzle right on the cover by Ruben Moreira: a dark-glasses-wearing man confidently declares he's ready to identify a murderer from a police lineup of three suspects — while a stunned onlooker and a uniformed officer react with disbelief, since the D.A. is temporarily blind. The lineup scene, bathed in that stark yellow light, perfectly captures the tense, procedural atmosphere that made Mr. District Attorney such a compelling read.
