High above a city rooftop in this December 1957 DC title, a yellow-suited jewel thief makes a daring getaway aboard a stolen contraption called the "Flying Patrolman" 'Copter — a wild red mechanical device straight out of the feature's "Outlaw Inventions" premise. Two pursuers on the rooftop point in alarm as the crook clutches his loot and lifts off, with the urban skyline stretching out below. Cover pencils by Sheldon Moldoff and inks by Ray Burnley give the scene a sharp, kinetic energy that makes this ten-cent issue a genuine snapshot of late-'50s DC crime comics at their most inventive.
