In the post-war era, Marvel (then known as Timely Comics) launched Georgie Comics, a lighthearted humor title that ran for 36 issues from 1945 to 1952. Centered on the misadventures of the titular Georgie and his friends Judy, Margie, and Monty—alongside the eccentric Captain Tootsie—the series blended slapstick and teen hijinks.
