Georgie takes his baseball game to a whole new level in this November 1948 issue, setting up an actual bomb sight on the pitcher's mound to line up his throws — much to the amusement of a stylish young woman in a polka-dot outfit who quips, "Gosh, Georgie, you sure take your pitching seriously!" In the background, a chaotic batter and catcher add to the madness of what appears to be the most over-engineered approach to America's pastime ever attempted. It's the kind of cheerful, gag-driven humor that made Marvel's teen comedy titles such a light-hearted treat in the late 1940s.
