About the series
During DC’s New 52 era, Birds of Prey (2011–2014) reimagined the team as a covert strike force operating in the shadows of Gotham City, with Black Canary and Starling leading a rotating roster of dangerous women. Writers Duane Swierczynski and Christy Marx, alongside artists Romano Molenaar, Scott McDaniel, and Robson Rocha, drove the series through 35 issues of high-octane espionage and brutal street-level action. While the lineup shifted, the core mission remained: taking on threats too volatile for the Justice League, all while navigating personal vendettas and uneasy alliances. It’s a gritty, fast-paced run that helped redefine the Birds for a new generation.
