Astonishing Tales

Marvel’s Astonishing Tales (1970–1976) was a 36-issue anthology series that spotlighted the savage adventures of Ka-Zar and his sabre-tooth companion Zabu in the Antarctic jungle known as the Savage Land, while also featuring the futuristic exploits of the cyborg soldier Luther Manning. Under the guidance of writers and artists like Roy Thomas, Rich Buckler, Gene Colan, and Dick Ayers, the book balanced primal survival tales with sci-fi intrigue, occasionally crossing over with Spider-Man and Peter Parker.
