Deathlok the Demolisher stands defiant at the center of this January 1976 Marvel cover, clutching a briefcase while two armed adversaries close in from either side, daring them to take it — over his dead body, apparently. Looming ominously in the background is a massive, unsettling alien face, hinting at the "God Machine" promised in bold lettering below. Rich Buckler's pencils and Klaus Janson's inks deliver a tense, kinetic scene that captures Deathlok's grim, cybernetic charisma at its mid-70s best.
