Who is Outlaw Kid?

Lance Temple was a mild-mannered frontier lawyer who secretly donned a mask to fight injustice as the Outlaw Kid, a skilled gunfighter and horseman. His double life let him operate outside the law's limitations to protect the innocent across the American West.

Few Western heroes can claim the kind of trail that the Outlaw Kid has blazed — debuting in Paragon Presents #1 in 1970, a Silver Age creation by Bill Black, this Marvel character rode into a rich tradition of frontier adventure storytelling. Over a remarkable span stretching nearly four decades to 2008, the Outlaw Kid carved out a niche in the saddle-worn pages of The Outlaw Kid and the celebrated Blaze of Glory, keeping company with some of the greatest guns in Marvel's Western canon — Lance Temple, the Rawhide Kid, Kid Colt, and Red Wolf among them. With a key issue to their name and appearances even crossing into X-Men: The 198, this is a character whose longevity speaks to the enduring appeal of Marvel's frontier mythology. For collectors with a taste for the wide-open spaces of Marvel's Western universe, the Outlaw Kid is a rewarding find.
