X-Men Noir: Mark of Cain #3
In "Mark of Cain Part Three," Thomas, fractured by Professor Xavier's Project Wideawake, begins to embody the darker side of his deceased brother Robert. With Wanda's help, he reunites with Angel's allies, only to discover the ruby of Cyttorak is already in motion—pulled into a deadly race aboard a freighter where Xavier's forces and the X-Men stand in opposing shadows. Written by Fred Van Lente and illustrated by Dennis Calero, whose bold inks and moody colors define the noir atmosphere, this issue tightens the screws on a desperate mission. The cover by Dennis Calero captures the tension in a single, striking image.
