“Mark of Cain Part Two”

In "Mark of Cain Part Two," Angel—now known as Jo—finds himself imprisoned in the high-security Genosha Bay prison under the watchful eye of warden Emma Frost. With the prison's defenses designed to contain mutants, Jo barely escapes his cell, only to be captured by the X-Men and brought before Professor Xavier. There, he's subjected to the intense, mind-testing Project Wideawake, pushing him to the edge of sanity. Written by Fred Van Lente and brought to life by Dennis Calero’s striking art and inks, this issue deepens the psychological stakes of the X-Men Noir saga, with Calero also handling the cover.

Angel is introduced to his new home at Genosha Bay prison by the warden, Emma Frost. Despite high security for criminals with special abilities, Tommy is able to escape his cell. Before he can make his way out of the prison and contact his allies, however, he is abducted by the "X" Men and taken to Xavier. The professor puts him through the Project Wideawake process, a sleep deprivation experiment that threatens to drive the Angel mad.
