“Two Hundred Jizo”

In "Two Hundred Jizo," Usagi Yojimbo encounters Masa, a sculptor driven by a desperate hope: to craft 200 Jizo statues and lift his village from the grip of the ruthless bandit Kaba. Written and illustrated by Stan Sakai, this poignant chapter blends quiet determination with sudden, striking action, as Usagi’s courage meets a fate shaped by faith and sacrifice. The cover, also by Stan Sakai, captures the weight of the moment in stark, expressive lines.
