In TV21 #76 (1971), the Sting-Ray—also known as Scorpion—strikes during a school fundraiser at Carter Slade’s ranch, paralyzing Sheriff Brooks and Clay Riley before stealing the collected funds. The Ghost Rider arrives to intervene, only to be blocked by the Sheriff and his men, setting off a tense standoff that escalates when the Sheriff turns his focus on the masked rider. As suspicion grows, the real threat hides in plain sight—disguised as the local druggist—and orchestrates a daring kidnapping of Natalie. With the Sheriff still determined to capture the Ghost Rider, the Tarantula steps in, pretending to aid the Night Rider to protect the truth. Written by Gary Friedrich and Dick Ayers, with art by Dick Ayers and inks by Vince Colletta, this issue features a cover by Carlos Pino and Vicente Alcázar.
