Toyfare: The Toy Magazine #82

Jun 2004 · Wizard Entertainment · 4.99 USD; 6.95 CAD

In a delightfully absurd twist, legendary villains Cobra Commander, Megatron, Skeletor, and Gargamel gather for a high-stakes game of Risk, trading wild tales from their pasts—Gargamel’s Smurf-induced high, Skeletor’s encounter with Mekaneck, and Megatron’s ominous threat to detonate the planet. When Cy-Kill unexpectedly shows up, the chaos escalates, leading to a bizarre prize for the millionth "Apocalypse Now" parody and a surreal moment when Azrael consumes Baron Karza and expels him as a living, breathing entity. Written by Pat McCallum, Tom Root, Zach Oat, Justin Aclin, Adam Patyk, Jon Gutierrez, Matt Senreich, and Doug Goldstein, this issue is a gonzo, offbeat celebration of pop culture’s most iconic antagonists—pure, unfiltered comic lunacy.

Cobra Commander, Megatron, Skeletor, and Gargamel play Risk. They tell stories. Gargamel tells the story about how he caught and ate a Smurf. It gave him a high. Skeletor thinks about when he ate Mekaneck. Megatron implies he will blow up the planet if he loses. Skeletor tells of how he captured Adam and then He-Man beat him. They all hide when Cy-Kill arrives, and Cobra Commander tells about when he shared an elevator with Darth Vader. Skeletor burns the skin off the pizza boy's head. They win a prize for the millionth "Apocalypse Now" parody. Azrael eats and poops out Baron Karza.
