With the team, including the Nébuleuse Noire, racing to Arizona to aid Oeil de Faucon and the Pistolero against the warlord Kaa and his Shadows, tensions rise when a stranger arrives at the Champions' LA base with a stolen box linked to the Etranger. The Homme aux Echasses soon follows, drawn to the same object, setting the stage for a tense standoff. Written by Bill Mantlo, illustrated by John Byrne with inks by Bob Layton and colors by Don Warfield, this 1978 issue features a cover by Jean Frisano.

With the Goliath Noir’s warning still echoing, the Champions must unravel the origins of the box while confronting the lingering shadow of Warlord Kaa and the fallen Shadow-Aliens—whose final act may not be over.
Iron Fist infiltrates Stark Industries searching for Colleen Wing, only to cross paths with Misty Knight, also on a mission to find her. Tony Stark takes notice, and as tensions rise, Iron Man steps in to confront the martial arts master—setting the stage for a clash of wills and weapons.
