About this Collection

This omnibus continues the early adventures of the original X-Men team, collecting issues from the Silver Age era. It features key storylines and character development for Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Iceman, and Angel as they face new threats and challenges under Professor X's guidance. The volume is part of Marvel's comprehensive hardcover series reprinting the classic Uncanny X-Men run.

In "Beware the Juggernaut, My Son!", the X-Men face off against the monstrous Sauron, only to lose the trail—unaware that the flying dinosaur is actually Dr. Karl Lykos in disguise. As the team visits Lykos, they find Alex restored and witness a fragile reunion between Lykos and his beloved Tanya, until her father’s arrival shatters the moment. When Lykos reverts to Sauron, draining Lorna’s energy, he flees to their old mountain cabin, where his final choice leaves his fate—and his heart—hanging in the balance. Written by Roy Thomas and illustrated with powerful precision by Neal Adams, with inks by Tom Palmer and letters by Sam Rosen, this story’s emotional weight is matched only by John Cassaday’s haunting cover.
