“Father's Day, Part II”

A striking June 1985 chapter from Alan Moore and Jim Baikie's run on the series, this "Father's Day, Part II" installment features a cover that fragments its cast — literally. Five faces peer out from shards of shattered glass scattered across a red ground, including a blonde woman, a masked figure raising a gun, a redhead, a man in a green jacket, and a dark-haired woman with an earring, all framed against a fiery orange explosion bursting through a cracked sky above them. It's a visually arresting composition by Baikie that captures a sense of splintered tension and high stakes without giving a thing away.
