The Transformers #62
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freePart one of the five-part "Matrix Quest" saga kicks off with a wonderfully clever cover from penciler Rodney Ramos and inker Eliot R. Brown — a comic-within-a-comic design that places a vintage-style pulp thriller titled Bird of Prey! at the center, its pages depicting a trench-coated Transformer brandishing twin pistols against a brick-wall backdrop. Surrounding that nested cover are scattered electronic devices and weapon components rendered in cool detail against a bright yellow background, giving the whole composition a sharp, puzzle-box feel. With Simon Furman writing and Geoff Senior on interior art, this 1990 issue promises the kind of genre-bending storytelling that made Marvel's Transformers run genuinely compelling.
