Backstreet

Backstreet is an Autobot who debuted during Marvel's original Transformers comic run, fighting alongside iconic allies like Optimus Prime against the Decepticons. A member of the Triggerbots subgroup, Backstreet transforms into a racing car and carries twin rub-sign-activated guns.

Backstreet rolled onto the scene in 1988, debuting in The Transformers #46 under the creative hands of Bob Budiansky and José Delbo — right in the thick of Marvel's beloved Transformers run. Though their catalog footprint is modest at seven appearances, those issues place Backstreet in genuinely exalted company: Optimus Prime, Megatron, Unicron, Soundwave, and Bumblebee are the titans sharing those pages. Preserved in the Transformers Compendium and still turning up across a remarkable 37-year span through 2025, Backstreet is a Copper Age gem for the dedicated collector who wants every corner of the Marvel Transformers universe explored.
