The Transformers #47
The underwater world turns deadly in The Transformers #47 (December 1988), as a mechanized shark-like Decepticon — all exposed machinery and jagged teeth — lunges at a scuba-diving woman while additional robotic sea creatures close in around her. Cover pencils by Bob Budiansky and inks by Kevin Nowlan give the scene a visceral, churning energy that sells the "Assault of the Savage Seacons!" tagline perfectly. It's a vivid, pulpy opener to "The Underbase Saga," promising that the war between Autobots and Decepticons has spilled into some very dangerous waters.
