The Spectacular Spider-Men debuted in March 2024 as the first ongoing co-starring series for Peter Parker and Miles Morales together, with writer Greg Weisman — best known for producing the 2008 Spectacular Spider-Man animated series and co-creating Gargoyles — pairing with series-launch artist Humberto Ramos. By issue #12, the art duties for the 'Strange Love' arc had transitioned to Emilio Laiso, an Italian artist whose prior Marvel work included Star Wars: Doctor Aphra and Marvel's Spider-Man: Velocity; colorist Edgar Delgado and letterer Joe Caramagna continued in their series-long roles. The issue carried a cover date of April 2025 and an in-shop release date of February 5, 2025, as the fifth chapter of 'Strange Love,' internally titled 'Hero Worship.' Cover art for the standard edition was provided by David Baldeón, with an Alessandro Cappuccio variant also released.
