The Spectacular Spider-Men was announced in November 2023 as the first ongoing co-starring series ever to unite Peter Parker and Miles Morales under one title, pairing writer Greg Weisman — showrunner of the beloved 2008 Spectacular Spider-Man animated series — with veteran Amazing Spider-Man artist Humberto Ramos. For issue #11, interior art duties shifted to Andrés Genolet and Von Randal (with Ramos's kinetic house style established in earlier issues), while the cover was provided by Emilio Laiso and colorist Edgar Delgado; the book was edited by Nick Lowe with Tom Groneman as associate editor. The series was ultimately cancelled after fifteen issues, making the 'Strange Love' arc (issues #11–15) the final chapter of Weisman's run.

A Morales Spider-Man clone named Shift, along with Jaime Morales and Miguel Fuentes, appear in flashback sequences, expanding the mythology around Miles's side of the story.
