The Spectacular Spider-Men #10
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe Spectacular Spider-Men #10 marks the in-costume debut of Elementary — Juliet Marcos — making it the first issue in which a supporting character built across the series' second arc steps fully into a superhero identity alongside Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The issue also delivers the first appearance of G.O.D.S. character Mia DiMaria outside her own series, expanding the connective tissue of the broader Marvel universe through Weisman's carefully maintained continuity web. Structurally, the issue closes out the arc that ran through the title's second collected volume and represents the payoff of several issues' worth of world-building around Juliet's elemental, magic-rooted powers. The pairing of two Electros against two Spider-Men — with a rookie hero caught in the middle on her very first outing — gives the issue a tight thematic symmetry that rewards readers who followed the series from its start.

The Spectacular Spider-Men launched in March 2024 as the first ongoing series to pair Peter Parker and Miles Morales as co-leads — a distinction Marvel's promotional materials emphasized at launch. Writer Greg Weisman, whose prior Spider-Man credit was the beloved 2008 animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man, brought that same long-arc, densely cross-referenced storytelling approach to comics, deliberately weaving in characters from his earlier Marvel work on Starbrand & Nightmask. Issue #10 shipped on December 18, 2024 with interior art by Cory Smith — stepping in alongside Emilio Laiso — and a cover by Laiso, with Edgar Delgado on colors; the issue was later collected in the trade paperback The Spectacular Spider-Men Vol. 2: Elementary alongside issues #6–10.
Trivia · 8 facts
- First appearance of Elementary in full superhero action: Juliet Marcos, whose elemental powers (air, water, earth, fire) are confirmed as magical in origin by Mia DiMaria at Doctor Strange's request, officially takes on the Elementary identity and joins the Spider-Men in the field for the first time.
- First appearance of Mia DiMaria outside the G.O.D.S. series — the issue's cover advertised her as a guest star, making this her debut in any other Marvel title.
- Both legacy Electros appear together as antagonists: the original Max Dillon (first appeared Amazing Spider-Man #9, 1964) and his successor Francine Frye (first appeared Amazing Spider-Man vol. 4 #2, 2014) team up, a pairing writer Greg Weisman would escalate in subsequent issues.
- Peter Parker's date with Sally Avril — a clone of the character killed in Untold Tales of Spider-Man #13 and resurrected during Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy — takes place here, following setup in issue #8.
- Libra (Gustav Brandt) makes his first full appearance in the series in this issue, after background appearances in issue #9 and a cameo in the tie-in short in Web of Spider-Man vol. 3 #1; his prior appearances were also in Weisman-written Starbrand & Nightmask.
- Written by Greg Weisman with interior art by Cory Smith; cover by Emilio Laiso with colors by Edgar Delgado. Release date: December 18, 2024; cover date: February 2025.
- A bystander during the Electro battle quotes the poem from Kraven's Last Hunt, one of several layered intertextual references Weisman embeds throughout the series.
- Collected in The Spectacular Spider-Men Vol. 2: Elementary (trade paperback, March 2025), which assembles issues #6–10.
