Matt Murdock is unable to prevent Sin-Eater from shooting down a judge in cold blood and escaping. Out on the street, Spider-Man battles the Sin-Eater and learns that he is the killer of Jean DeWolff. Fearing for Aunt May's safety, he has to let the villain go. Spider-Man investigates Jean's apartment looking for clues and finds that she collected pictures of him. Peter and friends attend Jean's funeral while Matt is mourning at the funeral of his friend, the judge. Sin-Eater kills a priest from the confessional booth.
