The Fury of Firestorm #59
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFirehawk takes center stage on this May 1987 cover, her feathered wings and energy aura blazing as she clashes mid-air against a powerful green-skinned figure wreathed in flame — with a civilian caught perilously below on what appears to be an industrial smokestack. The cover blurb "Firehawk Fights Alone!" sets the stakes perfectly, and the atomic-symbol burst of energy at the point of impact, rendered with sharp pencils by Joe Brozowski and inked by Dick Giordano, gives the confrontation real kinetic weight. John Ostrander's run on Firestorm the Nuclear Man was consistently compelling, and this issue looks like a strong showcase for one of DC's most underappreciated fire-powered heroes.
