The Fury of Firestorm #62

This August 1987 issue delivers one of the more unsettling cover compositions in the series: a shadowy, hat-wearing figure fills the frame, and reflected in his round goggles are two very different visions of Firestorm — one vibrant and heroic, the other a flaming skull — suggesting a hero caught between vitality and destruction. The contrast between those two reflections is genuinely haunting, and cover artists Joe Brozowski and Dick Giordano wring real tension out of the tight, close-up design. With John Ostrander writing "To Regain Tomorrow," this is a strong mid-run entry for fans of DC's Nuclear Man.
