The Flash #134

From February 1963, this issue of The Flash promises a three-way showdown billed right on the cover: the Flash in full sprint, a smirking Captain Cold confident in his fur-trimmed blue parka, and the rubbery Elongated Man stretching acrobatically overhead — apparently siding with the villain against the Scarlet Speedster. Cold's boast in his speech bubble, trading his cold-gun for an unlikely ally, sets up the tension of "The Man Who Mastered Absolute Zero!" beautifully. The cover by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson crackles with Silver Age energy and dynamic composition that made this era of DC storytelling so irresistible.
