The Defenders #139
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis January 1985 issue of The New Defenders delivers a cover packed with chaotic energy, as a massive, snarling beast-like figure dominates the center while the team — including Angel soaring overhead, a white-furred fighter, Beast, a green-caped archer, and several other heroes — scrambles across a dramatically diagonal battlefield against a pair of imposing villains. The cover art by Mike Mignola (pencils) and Kevin Nowlan (inks) gives the whole scene a raw, kinetic menace that feels genuinely threatening. With Peter B. Gillis writing and Don Perlin on interior art, "Hungry Like the Wolf!" looks to be one of those issues where the Defenders have their hands very, very full.
