The Defenders #133

From Marvel's July 1984 issue of The New Defenders, this Kevin Nowlan cover puts the team front and center in a tense, atmospheric confrontation. Valkyrie sword in hand and cape billowing, she charges forward alongside a winged teammate while a hulking, horned golden demon-like creature sprawls menacingly below them — all set against a murky waterfront swarming with shadowy figures. With the story titled "The Pajusnaya Consignment!", there's clearly something dangerous at stake, and this cover makes a compelling case that the New Defenders are right in the thick of it.
