The Comet #8
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFrom DC's Impact Comics line, this February 1992 issue of The Comet carries one of the more gripping covers of the run — Tom Lyle both penciling and inking a ferocious close-quarters struggle between the Comet, in his gold-and-blue costume, and a snarling pink-skinned figure whose clawed, mechanical-gauntleted hand is thrust right at the reader. The bold "EXPOSED!" caption and the story title "Shattered Secrets" suggest some hard truths are coming for our hero, while a small inset figure of the Comet in the upper corner adds a nice compositional punch. With Mark Waid and Tom Lyle co-writing and Lyle also handling interior art, this is a solid entry in the early-'90s superhero revival that Impact Comics was quietly building.
