The January 1969 cover date on this DC team-up gem pairs Batman and the Flash against a formidable threat — a massively built, seemingly unstoppable figure named Bork, who dominates the cover as he swats Batman aside while the scarlet-clad Flash charges in from the upper right. Neal Adams's cover art (inked by Adams himself) captures the raw physicality of the encounter beautifully, with Bork's enormous reaching hand and the bold starburst declaration — "You can't hurt Bork… BUT BORK CAN HURT YOU!" — setting up a genuinely lopsided-feeling challenge for two of DC's finest. Writer Bob Haney and interior artist Neal Adams with inkers Dick Giordano and Vince Colletta round out a creative team that made The Brave and the Bold one of the most exciting team-up books of 1968.
