About this Collection

This volume collects issues #17-20 of The Batman Chronicles, a series that presents standalone tales from across Batman's publishing history, reprinting stories originally featured in various Batman titles from the 1990s and early 2000s. The collection includes work by writers and artists such as Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, and Graham Nolan, offering a mix of action, mystery, and character-focused adventures in Gotham City.

In "The Bond Wagon," Bruce Wayne’s attempt at a quiet getaway takes a dark turn when his return sparks a chilling shift in behavior—toward Dick Grayson, who finds himself treated as an adversary. But when a frantic radio call reveals the real Wayne has been kidnapped by a madman targeting the wealthy and replacing them with impostors, Dick must confront the unsettling truth behind the man who claims to be his mentor. Written by Joe Samachson and illustrated by Dick Sprang with inks by Norman Fallon, this issue features a cover by Dick Sprang.

After handling a particular heart-rending situation between a friend of his and his wife, Bruce Wayne decides it's time for a vacation. But when "Bruce" returns from that vacation, he literally treats Dick Grayson like dirt.
